Nixon’s Foul Tongue

Since the Watergate scandal broke out in 1972, the world has pretty much known that president Richard Nixon was a crook. But that he and his inner circle privately called world leaders names, was not known to the public.

Recently released transcripts of Oval Office tapes and newly declassified documents, indicate that Nixon referred to former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as an “old witch.”

In a meeting with the then national security adviser Henry Kissinger, Nixon said:

We really slobbered over the old witch … The Indians are bastards anyway.

They are starting a war there … While she was a bitch, we got what we wanted too … She will not be able to go home, and say that the United States didn’t give her a warm reception and, therefore, in despair she’s got to go to war.
