Newspapers are an engendered lot today.
The proliferation of non-traditional news outlets such as blogs, YouTube, and social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, has already wiped out many dailies and many more are on the brink of extinction.
Aside from causing an entire industry to wither away, what other age-old institutions could Web 2.0 possibly destroy?
The e-mail can kill handwritten letters. The keyboard can kill pens and pencils. The Kindle can kill books. “Twitterature”—pico-versions of the great classics no longer than 140 characters at a time, and written in street lingo—can kill English literature as we know it.
And what’ll kill the keyboard?
