Beethoven, In 3D

One can now watch a classical music concert in 3D.

Sir Simon Rattle, Britain’s most celebrated conductor, is aiming to reach new audiences by screening 3D concerts in scores of movie theaters across the world, including 140 in Britain.

The technology aims to give moviegoers the sensation of not only sitting in the front rows, but right among the orchestra, offering close-ups of the virtuoso players.

These cine-concerts, if successful, will not only raise the profile of classical music, but will also provide funding to the arts.
