Simulating Cinematic Time

A day-long movie? American visual artist Christian Marclay has put together, in “The Clock,” a 24-hour-long video art that simulates cinematic time. A montage of over 3,000 films, spanning 100 years, from around the world, some classic, some ordinary, and some blah, it’s a movie you can tell time to.

So, when you’re watching a clip of “The Apartment” and Fred MacMurray says, ‘It’s a quarter to seven,’ it really is 6:45.
