M Birthday

M. celebrates her birthday on one of the hottest days of the year, on a day when the claustral heat forbids one to turn on the oven.

So, I had to come up with preparations that could be cooked on the stovetop. A few choice dishes of my native cuisine came to mind, on which I put my own spin: a corn and carrot pilaf; a cauliflower curry in yogurt sauce, garnished with cilantro; and for condiment, pineapple chutney.
