On August 27, last year, we were threatened by Hurricane Irene. Luckily, it lost its ire by the time it struck New York City.

Now, Hurricane Sandy is headed our way. It’s predicted to be the worst weather event to hit the city … ever. Described as a “Frankenstorm,” a mix of a hurricane and a winter storm that will pack very fierce winds, driving rain, towering tides, and snowfall, it’s expected to be an atmospheric behemoth.
