When nearly every gadget is on a path to miniaturization, it’s a crying shame that printers, till this day, remain bulky pieces of hardware that remain tethered to our desktops.
The “Mini Mobile Robotic Printer” makes a radical break with the standard models. Akin to a self-writing pen, the palm-size, battery-operated, Roomba-like piece of automation squirts ink as it moves across a sheet of paper. It’s not incredibly fast, and can print a page, a minute.
On the bright side, it fits in your pocket, and connects wirelessly to computers and smartphones, running on a wide range of operating systems (Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux.) A single inkjet cartridge will print more than 1,000 pages, 60 pages per charge. Each printer costs about $135.
