Station Code

There’s a curious YouTube channel that has, at this writing, over 77,000 videos, each 9 seconds long. Each has nothing, but a blue and a red rectangle on a white background. No one knows who uploads them or what their purpose is.

They could be the present-day equivalent of the mysterious Cold War-era “numbers stations.” These were shortwave radio stations that made baffling broadcasts of a string of numbers, widely believed to be coded messages targeted at spies on the field.

“The Lincolnshire Poacher,” the best known of such stations, was believed to have been run by M16.

  1. I saw them in the end 😉 The first one seems like something based on binary number system while second on based on decimal? Regardless of whatever the message hidden, they’re interesting 🙂
