Metal On Mars

NASA’s Mars rover, Curiosity, has come across a two-piece iron meteorite on the Red Planet, whose surface is pockmarked by angular cavities.

One possibility is that these holes once contained olivine crystals, found in a rare class of stony-iron meteorites called pallasites.
