What Can Harry Potter Teach Us?

A new study has found that reading the “Harry Potter” books can make young people more tolerant toward stigmatized groups, likely because the bespectacled boy wizard himself, has to navigate a world, rife with rivalries and hatred, where the “pure-bloods” (those with both magical parents) frown upon the “half-bloods” or the “mud-bloods” (those with only one magical parent.) Both, in turn, sneer at the “muggles” (folks with no magical power.)
