Goggle’s New Human Detector Test

When opening a new e-mail account, you’ve surely, come across a small panel of distorted letters and numbers, without deciphering which you can’t proceed to the next step.

That’s a “CAPTCHA”—an acronym for “Completely Automated Public Turing Test to tell Computers and Humans Apart”— a test designed to weed out spam.

Google has found a less time-consuming way of detecting a human behind the keyboard, by doing away with its squiggly, text-based captchas.

With “reCaptcha,” a lot of us will now be able to attest we’re humans, “without having to solve a CAPTCHA.” All we have to do is simply, click on a checkbox, next to the statement: “I’m not a robot.”
