Build Your Own Phone

Google has rolled out a modular phone, which has an element of the D.I.Y.

Unlike a conventional, one-piece handset, this model, named “ARA,” will have a set of components, housed in individual blocks that slide into a shell like the pieces of a jigsaw.

Held in place by magnets, they can be taken out, and re-arranged the way you like. It’s draw is that if, say, the screen cracks, it can be swapped for a new one, without having to go through the trouble of buying a whole new phone.
