End Of The Reign Of The “Queen Of The Skies”?

The 747, the largest of the Boeing fleet, may be nearing the end of its production life. Amid waning demand for four-engine aircraft, the airplane maker will cut the output of the graceful, humpbacked airliner, to only six a year.

The jumbo jet was one the most revolutionary passenger airliners of the 20th century.  Its arrival, in 1970, brought long-range travel within easy reach of the masses.
