Lithium Is “The New Gasoline”

There’s a worldwide scramble by battery producers and consumers alike, to secure supplies of lithium—the element that’s a vital component of batteries that power everything from watches to phones to cars.

That has made it the world’s hottest commodity. Goldman Sachs, an investment bank, calls lithium “the new gasoline.”
