Forget Fish. Now, You Can Eat Dead Fish.

Riding in the Hogwarts Express, Ron Weasley tells Harry Potter about one of the most loved candies in the wizarding world: “Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans.” As its name suggests, there are beans of many flavors in the box—and not just the regular ones.

You want to be careful with these. When they say every flavour, they mean every flavor—you know, you get all the ordinary ones like chocolate and peppermint and marmalade, but then you can get spinach and liver and tripe. George reckons he had a bogey-flavoured one once.

There’s also Black Pepper, Earthworm, Dirt, Earwax, Soap, Sausage, and Grass.

In the Muggle world, Jelly Belly Candy Company’s “BeanBoozled” line has been producing flavors of jelly beans that are, let’s say, not very scrumptious, such as Toothpaste, Rotten Egg. Moldy Cheese, Canned Dog Food, Baby Wipes, Booger, Lawn Clippings, Skunk Spray, Barf, and Stinky Socks.

Soon, they’ll be joined by two more icky flavors: Dead Fish and Spoiled Milk.
